yup, the legs seem too short. the normal proportion would be 1/3 height from ground to the kneecap, 2/3 to the middle of the waist, 3/3 to the top of the head... nothing that can't be quickly fixed though
I'm not going to argue about the proportions of the human body- humans are all different after all, and there are no "ideal" proportions. Actually I believe artists should make use of that fact and explore the beauty of the human body in all its shapes and aspects >w< ZAK-O is a great illustrator and I respect him for doing his thing!
As for the research though, I spent the last two years desperately studying anatomy and human figure from different handbooks by Loomis, Hampton and Bammes, so I must have had some sort of vague idea about the proportions before making that comment ^^'

Ohhh i see XD. My bad then. You might want to consider that this style is simplified, so it doesnt have to fit with the realism , also i respect you for that... i dont have the ambition to study realism XD
yeah, although I came to learn a lot of things about anatomy over those two years, I also see now why it is more important to look for your own way of doing things (like drawing the human figure). ZAK-O is doing exactly that and it works, so I probably wouldn't criticize his anatomy now ^^ drawings that we find most attractive are not necessarily the ones that are 'right'
